Triumph in Unity: Celebrating Diversity and Pride at Cathedral City LGBT Days – A Three-Day Spectacular Success!

The 8th Annual Cathedral City LGBT Days brought color, laughter, unity, and celebration to the heart of the Coachella Valley this past March. From March 8–10, 2024, Cathedral City played host to a weekend filled with memorable moments—from high-energy performances and a comedy headliner to one of the quirkiest events in the desert: the Bed Race and Parade of Beds.
As a local digital consultant and longtime supporter of inclusive events, I had the honor of partnering for the second year in a row with the incredible team at Soundskilz to help promote Cathedral City LGBT Days. And once again, it was a triumph—not just in attendance or engagement, but in impact and community connection.
A Weekend That Celebrated Everyone
Cathedral City LGBT Days is more than just a party—it’s a meaningful celebration of visibility, community, and resilience. As the first Pride event of the year in the Coachella Valley, it sets the tone for spring with vibrant energy and a strong message of inclusion. The weekend welcomed both residents and visitors, local leaders and out-of-town performers, kids and grandparents alike.
This year’s lineup included:
- An outdoor movie screening beneath the desert sky
- A dazzling light drone show that lit up downtown Cathedral City
- A comedy show headlined by the incredibly talented River Butcher
- Community booths, food vendors, and entertainment
- The signature Parade of Beds, featuring teams racing custom-made beds down the street in front of City Hall
The result? A weekend filled with laughter, selfies, standing ovations, and unforgettable moments. And most importantly, the feeling of a city showing up proudly for its LGBTQ+ community.
Casey Dolan Consulting’s Role
Behind the scenes, I was proud to once again provide digital marketing support for Cathedral City LGBT Days. My work included:
- Programmatic display advertising to reach audiences across Greater Palm Springs and beyond
- Social media advertising on Meta platforms (Facebook and Instagram), targeted by interests, behavior, and geography
- Paid search (Google Ads) campaigns optimized for timing, location, and event-specific queries
- Coordination of messaging and creative assets with Soundskilz, city officials, and key sponsors
The digital strategy was designed to create awareness, drive traffic to the event landing page, and boost attendance throughout the weekend. Campaigns were staggered by channel, tested for creative performance, and adjusted based on engagement trends leading up to the event.

Measured Results and Community Impact
Here’s a quick breakdown of the performance highlights from this year’s campaign:
- Programmatic banners: Thousands of impressions delivered with high engagement rates from target zip codes
- Google Search Ads: Strong click-through rates from people actively looking for Pride events throughout Southern California and locals looking for Cathedral City activities
- Social ads: Excellent engagement on event-specific content, particularly the Bed Race video teasers
- Landing page traffic: Consistent spikes in visits around lineup announcements, headliner drops, and weekend weather updates
More than metrics, the real success was seeing people discover, attend, and share the event—from long-time supporters to first-time participants.
Why Events Like This Matter
Cathedral City LGBT Days isn’t just a fun weekend. It’s an example of how cities can lead with inclusion, culture, and pride—creating space for visibility while also supporting local businesses and bringing residents together.
And in today’s landscape, thoughtful digital marketing makes that possible. With the right mix of strategy and heart, we can reach people where they are—on their phones, in their inboxes, or searching for something meaningful to do with their weekend.
A Personal Note
As someone who works with a wide range of clients—from homebuilders and nonprofits to e-commerce brands and city departments—few projects feel as rewarding as helping promote an event like this. It’s creative. It’s collaborative. And it’s rooted in something that matters.
I’m proud to have been part of Cathedral City LGBT Days again this year, and I’m already looking forward to what 2025 will bring.
If you’re organizing a local event and need support that’s strategic, community-oriented, and backed by real results—I’d love to talk.
